Classes & EventsOnline classes coming soon. Studio hours ClassesSheep to Shawl or Sweater Pico Accuardi Dyeworks has a very exciting project for this year! A sheep to shawl or sweater project. This is in conjunction with Imperial Stock Ranch so yes it will be Columbia sheep:) If you are in our fiber club you already know how wonderful that fiber is!We will be heading out to ISR to watch or help shear the sheep around the beginning of May (the shearer has not scheduled his dates yet). Columbia have huge fleeces so we will be splitting the fleeces among us. We’ll spend the night at Imperial River Company in Maupin, Or. so we don’t miss any part of the big show at the ranch. We’ll skirt our fleeces and split them while there. We will then be bringing our fleeces back to the studio for the big wash and dyeing process. After the drying it will be time to choose projects! We will have copies of Nancy Bush’s new Estonian Lace knitting available, but you are welcome to choose the project you want. We will go through a series of spinning get togethers to spin for your exact project. It will be on to knitting from there. There will be get togethers and/or classes through out this huge project. We want to support each other with this community so that we do make it through in 2011. You can participate through every stage or only the ones you want. We’ll have more specific details of dates and costs (although there will not be costs for every get together) as we get them. It just is too exciting of an idea not to share right away! If you are not local we want you to be able to participate vicariously. If you want to join along you can purchase a part of a fleece and we will either send it to you raw or we can wash and dye it to your specifications. We are happy to include a knitting book in the shipment of your fleece. We will be video taping each of the steps so you won’t miss a thing…well you will miss the smell of the barn;) We will have chat times on our Pico Accuardi Dyeworks Ravelty group so we can spin and knit together.
